Another one for 'Magic Man' followed by 'Barracuda'...

Strange but painfully true...the majority of British people (myself included) had never heard of Heart until the mid-80's...

Talk about being slow on the uptake...!

Love Alive
Straight On
Dog And Butterfly....

Does anyone know that thier were TWO versions of "Heartless" out there. During a dispute with Mushroom records they recorded it. Then when they signed with Portrait Records, Mushroom pulled the copies that had been released of that version. I heard it once...but can't find it anymore :-\\

I still think Crazy on You was their best song in the 70s

Interesting trivia about heart:  Their 2nd album Magazine was released twice.  At the time, Heart was signed with a Vancouver record label called Mushroom Records, but due to a falling out over promotion of their first album Dreamboat Annie, Heart broke their contract and changed record labels, so Mushroom went ahead and released Magazine in 1977 in an unfinished form with live recordings to round out a full track listing.  The band sued, and the album was recalled, but as Heart had originally signed a 2 album deal, they were ordered back into the studio to properly record a 2nd album, which Mushroom released in 1978.  The only hit from the album was Heartless

The lawsuits between Heart and Mushroom actually put the record label in such financial jeopardy, they went bankrupt in 1980, leaving most of their acts unable to score a new record deal elsewhere including Jerry Doucette (known for the hit Mama Let Him Play) and Ian Matthews (known for the hit Shake It).  Chilliwack was the only Mushroom act that was able to find a record deal elsewhere and in 1981, reached the US Top 40 for the first time with My Girl (Gone Gone Gone)

Interesting trivia.  We don't always hear about the interactions between artists and their record labels, but have heard about contentious relationships like this plenty of times.

The album features two versions. A faster version and a slower, longer, more orchestrated version.

I found the slower version ,not bad but I much prefer the more well known version that's always on the radio .
