Okay, I'm making my Dad a CD of oldies for Christmas and he LOVES this one song that goes:

Well, you've answered half your question in your post title, Bethey...
It is indeed called 'You Got What It Takes' and was a big hit for Marv Johnson back in 1960...fine song too...
(Stay away from Dave Clark's version tho'...!!)

Marv Johnson's version hit number 10 on the Billboard charts and it hit the top 40 in late 1959 (into 1960)
The Dave Clark 5 version hit number 7 on the Billboard charts and it hit the top 40 in spring 1967.
That's according to the Billboard book of Top 40 hits... ;)
