Kiss had great success, along with Aerosmith.

Yeah,Kiss and Aerosmith were very successful.
I'd have to say Boston,Led Zeppelin and The Eagles probably had the biggest selling albums of that decade.

Now think logically folks...The Best Band in the '70's and forever is LED ZEPPLIN  !!!! No band had such a distintive feel...no band ever sounded so diffrent from one song to the next..no guitarist ever explored electric guitar sounds like Page..no drummer ever played drums with so much abandon as Bohnam(listen to Moby Dick) ...no singer uses his voice like a violin like Plant ..and no fan base is as loyal as Zepplin fans! Case closed. Mar

Eventhough I was a big KISS and Alice Cooper fan I'll have to go with Pink Floyd, I wish Roger Waters would get back with the band

For me, it would be Jethro Tull and Styx. Queen is a close second.

BTW, today is Alice Cooper's birthday.  ;D

I don't know about that.  I still think Pink Floyd was years ahead of Led Zeppelin in the 1970's.

I also notices no one posted anything about Blue Oyster Cult or the Eagles or the Sex Pistol or etc. (who also could be up there near the top in this type of discussion) (I know I've lost track of quite a # that could also share in this category) (I would say it's a matter of preference, as well).
