Those two work for me too, plus...

Merry Christmas, Darling

It's just a Christmas song I don't mind hearing every year.

(I'm not ashamed to say I like a Carpenters song or two)   :-\\

Superstar is their all time best, though Ticket To Ride was much better than the Beatles original... for me anyway... it was real dramatic yet finished beautifully. Plus you gotta love Karen's deep rich tone.

My favourite Carpenters song is "Beechwood 4-5789" which in 1982 became their last ever hit before Karen's passing  :\'(

I went with (They Long To Be) Close To You, but it's tough choice between that and Yesterday Once More, Top Of The World and For All We Know.

I also like their version of There's A Kind Of Hush.

I chose Yesterday Once More.  Back when I was living in Chicago (all of 5 years ago), but especially when I was a kid, there was this AM radio station called WJJD.  They would play a lot of songs from the 30s-70s, but mostly the softer stuff, like Anne Murray's "Snowbird" and the Carpenters.  They used to play this song a lot, and I really fell in love with it.

I'm trying to decide between:

"We've Only Just Begun"
"(They Long To Be) Close To You"
...and another one which I can't place (I know some of the words, but not sure of the title...I suppose I could google it).

Their remake of "Ticket To Ride" is so-so IMO.
