Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, the Cars, Head East, Ian Hunter, AC/DC, Molly Hatchet
and the Baby's LOL

They were at an outdoor concert with cheap trick, molly hatchet and AC/DC, you can imagine they were almost Boo'd off the stage. Til they did "Isn't it Time", then everybody sang along, then the booing started again as soon as they started a different song.

Quite a few!   ;D  Some were seen after the 70's...

Here's a twist on the question - who were some of the best (or worst) 70's concert acts you've seen?

One of the best shows I saw during the 70's was Earth, Wind and Fire, at college.  They were so colorful and funky and energetic - they just had us on our feet the whole time!  They played as if they had looked forward to playing for us for months.  Excellent show!   :)

Bread, Chicago (probably the best), Rare Earth, Don McLean, Linda Ronstadt, CS&N, Neil Young, the James Gang (definitely the loudest), Dan Fogelberg (once with a band behind him, once just him - I liked the solo one the best)

I saw Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, Judas Priest, AC/DC and Kiss, but all in the 80s, the only concerts I went to in the 70s was a danish rock band - THE danish raock band of the 70s - called Gasolin', but I doubt many know them here, although they did put out a US and a British album in '78.

I just saw a 70s band at a free concert ...

I went downtown earlier this evening just for a drive, and saw a concert going on in the Market Square.  So I stopped to check it out, and low and behold, it was TROOPER, so I stayed and saw the show.  They were awesome!

For those of you who don't recognize the name Trooper, they are a Canadian band that had a total of 17 hits in Canada between 1975-1982; 1989-1991.  Their lone charting single in America was 'Raise A Little Hell' in 1978, which charted on the Billboard Hot 100, but failed to make the Top 40

Having been born in 1957 i was in my prime in the seventies so the way for me to answer the question would be who didn't i see....And believe it or not the one major act i have never seen live is Led Zeppelin...don't know how it happened but something always prevented me from seeing them live >:(

That's okay, Renaissance should have been in bold, I saw them in '79 and then again in '82. Annie Haslem
was living in the Philadelphia area, I don't know if she still does, so she played the TLA in Philly quite often.
I tried not to miss a show.

I was living in upstate N.Y. and they used to play at a place called "The Chance". It was around 82,83. saw them three times.
Last time was when they released Time Line, and managed to score an autographed poster of the band. This club was so cool,
before the shows the musicians would eat, with the crowd. My ex walked up to them after they had finished eating and asked them to autograph the poster. They were very nice. He got custody of it in the divorce though.
We saw some pretty amazing bands there Warren Zevon (a whole buncha times when he was in his prime,) Nils Lofgrin before he joined e street band. Jerry Garcia Band, Bobby and the Midnights Stevie Ray Vaughn. We would get drunk as skunks and always had the best time, and only lived like 5 mins away.
Then we had children, and had to behave like responsible adults.  BOO HISS....

Had to resurrect this old thread cos last night I saw the ultimate band from the 70s and had to add to my list:

2009: The Who

We were actually only going down to listen to the gig (near my house) from a nearby park as we couldnt afford the tickets. But two people were leaving just as we got there and they handed us their tickets. So we only missed the opening 3 numbers and their seats were just 20 rows from the stage!

Well, between the 80's and early 90's, I've seen Marshal Tucker, Heart, Damn Yankees (which is not a 70's band, but is made up from recycled Rockers from the 70's), and the Allman Brothers. No, not really a concert goer. On the flip side of that coin, I've also seen David Allen Coe, Reba Macintyre, and Loretta Lynn.

I saw The Rubettes sometime in the 90s (as opening act for The Tremeloes... :D)

Trouble is, we had to sit through their act waiting for 'the hit' right at the end!  :P
