The best punk came out in the late seventies. It was replaced by hardcore in the eighties. Hardcore was never as good as late seventies punk.

And add some oi bands like Blitz, Peter and the TTB, and even Sham is supposed to be rather oi band at the begining of his story...

I would have to add The Tubes.In the late 70's they were an
excellent punk band unfortunately they sold out to the 80's
MTV crowd.We also can't forget the Dead Kennedys.

another who are probably unheard of outside of Canada are Teenage Head. :)
Teenage Head were great. Every so often, I still hear "Somethin on My Mind" on the radio :)
