Subject: What's the name of this song?!

I know this is a looong shot with the very little info that I can remember about the song, but ummm...here it is! This is definetly a top 40 hit sometime during the 70's, & in the beginning it has a horn section doing a constant "do-do do doo do doo dooo" over & over (also done later in song), & right after that the first words sang are "Are You Ready". Those are the only lyrics I can remember (unfortunately...or I would have enough to Google it). Please help! Thanks. ???

Sounds like a song played at the start of many sporting events. I think some marching bands play it also.

Well, you would definetly hear this song every now & then on your local oldies radio station. It kinda has a Sly & The Family Stone style to it.

Any chance the song is "Are You Ready" by Pacific Gas & Electric? ::)
That song came out in the spring of 1970 and hit #14 on the charts. An uptempo, rocking tune with horns. "Are you ready" was repeated in the song lyrics.
