Subject: Phantom of the Paradise

Who here has heard of or seen Phantom of the Paradise? It is really intersting film about a musician who sells his soul to an evil record producer (played by Paul Williams), and has to save his girlfriend, a singer, from the producer, and also has become disfigured as the result on an accident.

I saw this for the second time about a year ago (I kinda like Paul Williams songwriting) It's a quirky little movie!

I saw this film a long time ago, a double-billing the Rocky Horror Show, I struggle to remember both films and when I do, I get the two mixed up.

I remember seeing it when it was first released in the drive-in.
Funnily - a friend of mine emailed me this weekend to advise she had finally recieved copyright permission to adapt it to a stage musical (amatuer).

I bought the VHS, very gothic early 70s, creepy,(along the lines of Brewster McCloud and Harold and Maude) Paul Williams was just short of brilliant.

Funny you should mention Rocky Horror...
Jessica Harper who played Phoenix in Phantom of the Paradise happened to play Janet Majors in Shock Treatment, the sequel to Rocky Horror. Have you seen it?
