His 80's material was okay, but I prefer his earlier stuff...

Even though it's a depressing song, "All By Myself" is the one I chose here...followed by "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again"...

Ok , then I love the song Please Go All the Way which wasn't on the list., great vocals, kind of hit some electric guitar power chords on it. All by Myself for the solo stuff.

The album version of All By Myself has a longer music break of the Rachmaninov 2nd Piano Concerto.
so is the same cut avail on CD? Now I'm feeling a strong urge to hear it. I will check at the music store I'm going to tomorrow, my kid wants me to pick up the Celtic women cd. Those ladies can sing

That was the LP (Vinyl) version, whether it is the same on the CD I do not know.

Eric Carmen and another of the Raspberries went to the Cleveland Institute of Music at the same time as I went to Case Western Reserve University in the early 70s.  They were big on the Cleveland music scene, and of course, in the University Circle one.  They followed another group which all attended CWRU - The James Gang.  Cleveland rocked back in the day!!

Make Me Lose Control is my favorite

I never even got to meet any of the James Gang.  The Raspberries used to play venues like Bevaqua's before they went up to things like the Agora (downtown Cleveland).  And Bevaqua's was right in the University Circle area, so I've seen them a number of times.

But me.  I couldn't carry a tune with a forklift.

I searched for Eric Carmen in a music store yesterday, but all they didn't have any original albums, just the hits.

Most of his music is "out of print" the only way to get it is through Ebay or Amazon or Gemm.
