How about these ...
David Dundas - Remember his 1978 hit "Jeans On"?
Wet Willie - They had a few popular hits, such as "Weekend"
David Gates - Remember "Goodbye Girl"?
Jay Ferguson - "Thunder Island"
Bob Welch - "Ebony Eyes"
Alan O'Day - "Undercover Angel"
Peter McCann - "Do You Wanna Make Love"
Maria Muldaur - "Midnight at the Oasis". I hate that song. lol
Jigsaw - Big disco hit with "Sky High"
We also had our fair share in Canada. Here are a few Forgotten Canadian Artists ...
Mashmakhan - Their 1970 hit "As Years Go By" was a popular hit in Canada, America and even Japan
Copper Penny - They had a few hits, the biggest of which was "Sitting on A Poor Man's Throne" in 1973
Peter Pringle - He was a French singer. His big English language hit was a ballad called "You Really Got Me Needing You Now"
Martin Stevens - Another Quebecois artist. His biggest hit was a cover of the John Paul Young track "Love is in the Air"
The Raes - Disco group. Their biggest hit was "A Little Lovin' (Keeps the Doctor Away)"
Octavian - One hit wonders with the 1974 hit "Good Feeling (to Know)"
Crowbar - Their big hit was called "Oh, What A Feeling". It still remains a staple in Canadian music
The Diodes - The first Canadian punk band to enter the top 40. Their big hit was called "Tired of Waking Up Tired" in 1978
Ironhorse - Randy Bachman's post BTO project. 1979's "Sweet Lui Louise" was a top 40 hit in both Canada and America
The DeFranco Family - Their 1974 hit "Heartbeat (It's A Lovebeat)" was also popular in America
THP Project - They had a few disco favourites, the biggest of which was a cover of the "Theme From S.W.A.T"
Ocean - "Put Your hand in the Hand" was a #1 hit in Canada, and a #2 hit in America
Stonebolt - 1979's "I Will Still Love You" was a top 40 hit across North America
Vehicle - They were one hit wonders with a song called "Mr. Love"
Joey Gregorash - He had a few early 70's hits like "Jodie". His biggest hit though was his 1987 comeback hit "Together (The New Wedding Song)"

late seventies it was a time when punk rock has begun. There are tons of forgotten punk bands form all the World... Do anybody remember The Stiffs, SLF, Anti Nowhere League, Generation X, Chelsea and so on...

David Gates was an original member of Bread...the best of the 'mellow' style bands in the 1970's
Jay Ferguson was in the band Spirit...
How about David Naughton with "Makin' It" and Rupert Holmes with "Escape(the Pina Colada song)"
and David Geddes with "Run Joey Run"..he also did a song about 'the blind man in the bleachers' dunno the title?

Now THAT was a great song. This song was absolutely HUGE in 1979 here in Australia. Has a good story in it too.

Done some research...
Can't say that I do, but it reached #19 in Dutch charts.
Ditto - it got stuck bubbling under btw (as did Lorilee).
Repeating myself here, but these songs don't ring any bells. Two more from the bubbling under section.
Not so big overhere, reaching only #22. (If You Have To Go Away reached #26, btw)
Add The Netherlands to that list. It reached #25 overhere.
A #23 hit in Dutch Top 40.
...and a #3 hit in The Netherlands.
Anyone remember Mr. Walkie Talkie ...? ??? Or Racing Cars ?
That's awesome that Ironhorse made it overseas. They were so underrated in their day

Angelo and Save Your Kisses For Me by Brotherhood Of Man
I know they had some other hits as well, but most people these days who were born after 1980 have no idea who they are. I absolutely LOVED both the songs Ive mentioned, especially Angelo.
