Subject: The Song Wildflower

Written By: imhowold? on 01/23/06 at 11:27 pm

I Love, Love, Love the song Wildflower....but I don't really know who sings it.
I had forgotten about for a while, but heard it again on the radio a few months back *& since then have had lots of people tell me lots of different things. I googled it & got lots of different answers.

I've heard it was Skylark :)
I've heard it was The O'Jays :)
I've even heard it was Johnny Mathis (I'm sure it is not his version I like so much) ;D

I am guessing it is The O'Jays version that I love, but I'm not sure.

Anyone have any ideas who sings the version of Wildflower that gets alll the radio play?

The Cult did a song called Wild Flower in 1987 ;D

It was Skylark (in 1973) which peaked at #9 on the Billboard Charts :)

There was also a Wildflower by a group called "The New Birth" in 1974 that was also a hit :)

The biggest hit version was by Skylark, and a wonderful version at that!

The O'Jays did a fantastic cover of the song, later - never a "hit", though.

I don't remember any other versions, but wouldn't be surprised if there were others...  ::)
