Agreed, young Karen...

Worthy of a mention are 'The Show Must Go On', 'Moonlighting', 'Have You Ever Been In Love' and 'Orchard Road'...

Apparently I hear that there's a 'hip 'n trendy' remix of 'Thunder In My Heart' just about to be released...

**Sigh**

Did he record Unchained Melody?

He did yes.  It hit UK #54 in 1986 and is one of two songs I forgot to put in the poll  :\'(

The other is Till You come Back to Me in 1983

That is Ok, for I cannot stand the song Unchained Melody!

You don't like his version, or just the whole song in general?

Both.

It is kind of a slow, depressing song  :\'(

The Righteous Bros. version was OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it ;D

Heh! Mr. Philip...

Do try and lend an ear to the version by Peter Sellers & Spike Milligan (as Bluebottle & Eccles respectively), which was deemed 'unsuitable' for release way back in 1955...

"Long Tall Glasses," although "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" comes close.  I know it's a novelty song, but I liked it then, and like it now.

Ten guesses which record was being played on Magic Radio just then and I turned it off!

Have you ever seen Leo Sayers and Richard Simons together???

I think they are the same person. My theory is anyway. .. Leo's singing career went in the tank, he went into depression gained a lot of weight, then reinvented himself as 'exercise guru' Richard Simons.

Just my theory...

Actually Leo looks a wee bit older than that now - and even more like Simmons !!  He moved to Australia about 12 months ago (something about tax problems) and turns up at every red carpet event.

This one was for the Cancer Foundation in January.

(Only one I ever liked was Orchard Road).

Much like other polls here, I gotta go with the only one I've heard of, and that's You Make Me Feel Like Dancing.

Leo Sayer is currently #1 on the UK charts with a remix of "Thunder in My Heart"

Thunder in My Heart Again - Meck featuring Leo Sayer

I chose "More Than I Can Say", but I also like "When I Need You," "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" and a few others. Leo Sayer was born the same day as me - May 21st, 1945 (different years, though, lol)

OK I have scared myself and just bought tickets to a show featuring Leo !  Good god !

Its a tribute to the songs of Lennon and McCartney and features aussie artists John Waters (my actual reason for buying the tiks), Christine Anu, Rick Price - and token aussie Leo. Comes to my city in May.

Well as per above - last night I saw Leo in concert for the first time.

The night was a tribute to the songs of Lennon & McCartney and featured Leo and 3 well known aussie singers. They sung as a foursome, as duets and as solo's. All really nice arrangements.

I found it really weird that leo was the only one who needed lyric sheets - he had them stuck all over the stage and would leap around from location to location making sure he could always see his lyrics. I found it really distracting - especially when he totally forgot lyrics and just mumbled three lines. (Someone told me afterwards that its a habit of his and he suffers short term memory loss).

It was also his birthday. At interval those of us on the front row got given streamers. After the encores at the end of the night John got the attention of the crowd and announced Leo's birthday. We all threw the streamers and sung happy birthday and a huge cake was brought out. He started to cut it up and handed it out to us on the front row. Mum ate my slice but I ate the cherries !!

I dont know that I would pay to see him solo - he is indeed an entertainer and told great stories about meeting the Beatles etc - but the whole lyric reading thing is just something I have never encountered in 28 years of concert going. It distracted me for the whole night.
