Subject: Perverted/Sexually Explicit 70's songs

Written By: Tony20fan4ever on 02/28/06 at 8:35 pm

I'll start:
Love to Love You Baby..Donna Summer (simulates orgasm 22 times at least)
More, More, More...Andrea True Connection

There was also a song called "I Wanna Do Something Freaky to You" that I vaguely remember, don't know the artist though.

I love "Love To Love You, Baby".  I've got one of the extended mixes, it's like 16 or 17 minutes long and at my friend's 21st birthday we had a disco theme, and we played it back-to-back-to-back.  It was great.

Almost anything (and everything) by the legendary Judge Dread...

Well...okay, not so much 'perverted'...more 'innuendo'-laden, but his material was enough to guarantee him not one shred of airplay...

Titles include...'Big Six', 'Big Seven', 'Big Eight'...(You get the idea!)

Now, if you want 'explicit'...try Ivor Biggun's 'Winker's Song' from 1978...!

I Made Linda Lovelace Gag, by David Allen Coe (he had a lot that were worse, I can not even give the titles here they are so bad)
Touch-a Touch-a Touch-a Touch-a Me, by the cast of Rocky Horror (and almost every other song in the movie for that matter)
Chevy Van, by Sammy Johns
Brown Sugar, by The Rolling Stones
Mister Wiggles, by Parlaiment
Black Betty, by Ram Jam (originally by Leadbelly)

The song has to do with using the inside of a greasy Twisties* packet to umm, err, 'pleasure thineself' in a darkened movie theatre.  But the lights come up at the wrong time :  ;D

When The Whip Comes Down - Rolling Stones
Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin

And I can't believe no one mentioned:  Afternoon Delight - Starland Vocal Band

Go All The Way - The Raspberries

Eh ?  "Go All The Way" is 'Perverted/Sexually Explicit' ?  :o ??? ??? ???

I never knew how complete love could be
Till she kissed me and said,
Baby, please go all the way,
It feels so right
Being with you here tonight,
Please, go all the way,
Just hold me close

If I recall correctly, the theme of every Raspberries song was about getting some girl in bed for the night... ;D

How about White Plains:

My baby loves lovin'
My baby loves lovin'

In the early to mid seventies the really raunchy stuff never got played on mainstream radio.

Like the second verse of Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side"

Or Frank Zappa's "Dynamo Hum" (FM radio played it to death tho'...)

Don't know that it was perverted, but Meri Wilson's, "Telephone Man" certainally could be taken as suggestive.  ;D  Also, her follow-up ""Peter the Meter Reader,"

Also depending on how conservative you were, Ray Stevens' "The Streak" could be considered...

And Meatloaf's "Paradise by the dashboard light" or something along those lines (I just remember hearing it in Karaoke.

I don't remember the song, but the title doesn't especially please me...  ;D  Ain't Gonna Bump No More (With No Big Fat Woman) Joe Tex

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?
If anything this song is about a couple's love affair with parties and drugs !
You're probably thinking of the line "They had one thing in common, they were good in bed." But that's not explicit, Henley goes into the metaphor after that. Heck, the two even start to loooose sexual interest in each other by the line "He was too tired to make it, she was... too tired to fight about it." And drugs will do that. See what I mean?

I didn't say that the song is ABOUT sex but it does have sexually explicit lyrics-more than just "they were good in bed." Try the "faster, faster" line.

Old fashioned roller skates fit over your shoes and were tightened with a, uh, screw, sometimes called a "key."

Yes, the lyrics are loaded with potential innuendo, including the pun "nookie."  However, Melanie denies all of it and writing circa 1970, she just might be innocent!

It barely penetrated the Hot 100, but thrust its way pretty far up the R&B charts, so it was heard by a demographic less likely to complain.

"you ain't seen nothin' till you're down on a muffin

Oh, he knew what it meant alright!  Even if he'd never been down on a muffin, it's not hard to figger it out.  Aereosmith did not possess a Shakespearean subtlety in that dept.  "Hey diddle diddle with your kitty in the middle!"
http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/02/catsmiley.gif

Now during MY 16th summer, I heard younger kids singing, "Relax, don't do it, when you wanna step to it!"  I wasn't exactly sure what Frankie meant myself, but I was pretty sure Frankie meant something different from what those kids at the mall thought Frankie meant!

The Knack -- Good Girls Don't

She's your adolescent dream,
Schoolboy stuff, a sticky sweet romance.
And she makes you want to scream,
Wishing you could get inside her pants.
So, you fantasize away.
And while you're squeezing her, you thought you heard her saying...

"Good girls don't,
Good girls don't,
She'll be tellin' you,
Good girls don't, but I do."

So, you call her on the phone
To talk about the teachers that you hate.
And she says she's all alone,
And her parents won't be coming home til late.
There's a ringing in your brain,
Cause you could've sworn you though you heard her saying...

"Good girls don't,
Good girls don't,
She'll be tellin' you,
Good girls don't, but I do."

And it's a teenage sadness
Everyone has got to taste.
An in-between age madness
That you know you can't erase
Til she's sitting on your face.

You're alone with her at last,
And you're waiting til you think the time is right.
Cause you've heard she's pretty fast.
And you're hoping that she'll give you some tonight.
So, you start to make your play,
Cause you could've sworn you thought you heard her saying...

"Good girls don't,
Good girls don't,
She'll be tellin' you,
Good girls don't, but I do."

And it's a teenage sadness
Everyone has got to taste.
An in-between age madness
That you know you can't erase
Til she's sitting on your face.

Good girls don't,
Good girls don't,
She'll be tellin' you,
Good girls don't, but I do...

Billy Joel  --  Only the Good Die Young

Come out virginia, dont let me wait
You catholic girls start much too late
Aw but sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well be the one

They showed you a statue, told you to pray
They built you a temple and locked you away
But they never told you the price that you pay
For things that you might have done.....
Only the good die young
Thats what I said
Only the good die young x2

You might have heard I run with a dangerous crowd
We aint too pretty we aint too proud
We might be laughing a bit too loud
Aw but that never hurt no one

Come on virginia show me a sign
Send up a signal Ill throw you the line
The stained-glass curtain youre hiding behind
Never lets in the sun
Darlin only the good die young
(woah x5 )
I tell ya
Only the good die young x2

You got a nice white dress and a party on your confirmation
You got a brand new soul
Mmmm, and a cross of gold
But virginia they didnt give you quite enough information
You didnt count on me
When you were counting on your rosary
(oh woah woah)

They say theres a heaven for those who will wait
Some say its better but I say it aint
Id rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints
The sinners are much more fun...

You know that only the good die young
Oh woah baby
I tell ya
Only the good die young, x2

(just music here, saxaphone? )

You say your mother told you all that I could give you was a reputation
Aww she never cared for me
But did she ever say a prayer for me? oh woah woah

Come out come out virgina dont let me wait,
The catholic girls start much too late
Sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well be the one,
U know that only the good die young

Im telling u baby
Only the good die young x2
Only the gooooooooooooooood
Only the good die young
Only the gooooooooooooooood

One of the funniest things I ever saw on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show was a guest (a popular actor I liked, but can't remember) that walked on stage and read lyrics of Love to Love You Baby as prose. I was rolling.

Gotta keep this thread at the top to increase 1970s board traffic.  If we see "perverted/sexually explicit" under 1970s, that's the board we're gonna check out!

Love won't me wait - Major Harris (could be interpreted as somewhat risque)

Look what you've done to me - Boz Scaggs (not too bad really)

Into the night - Benny Mardones is often interpreted as pedophilic, but I prefer to pretend it's more romantic then that)

Make it with you - Bread - Even soft rock could be risque.  lol

Feel like making love - Bad Company

Stay with me - Faces/Rod Stewart

Tonight's the night - Rod Stewart

Hot Legs? - Rod Stewart

I'm guessing because it was used in "American Gigalo" is why I thought "Call me" by Blondie was a little more dirty then it was.

Max, mistress, C'mon! Rod was never perverted. Suggestive, I'll give you that. but it was the 70's. No one could avoid being a little suggestive once Studio 54 opened. At least if they wanted to get on the charts!

Certainly could, which is why the radio version faded out early!

(Why? Because the young lady in the background began 'moaning'...and not in a 'you-still-haven't-painted-that-garden-fence' manner either!)

Mr. Stewart is still known for his monkish and pious persona.

A couple of wierd songs and who they were sung by in the 70's had me scratching my head when I found out about the artists. They both basically put keeping it in the family on top of the charts.
The first one is a country tune "Heaven's Just A Sin Away" sung by a Father/Daughter act the Kendalls. The second one, with orgasm moans and groans mind you, is another Father/Daughter compilation, "Let's Do It Again' by the Staples Singers.

Eric Clapton - Easy Now

Album: Eric Clapton (1970)

   * Songwriters: Eric Clapton

Holding you, you holding me
Everyone could see we were in ecstasy
Making love against the wall
Feeling very small when we didn't need to be

Easy now, don't let my love flow out of you
Please remember that I want you to come too

Oh my darling, help me please
When I'm without you I fall down and graze my knees
I look so funny and I feel sad
Your love is all I've ever had, so please don't tease

Easy now, don't let my love flow out of you
Please remember that I want you to come too

Yesterday, you know tomorrow
Could it be I'll have to borrow someone new?
I know that I'm the one to blame
But all the same, there must be something you can do

Easy now, don't let my love flow out of you
Please remember that I want you to come too

Easy now, don't let my love flow out of you
Please remember that I want you to come too

Easy now, don't let my love flow out of you
Please remember that I want you to come too

Brand New Key? Someone explain, please.

Fortunately, before there was youtube, there were film nerds recording their own videos on 8mm:

 - Melanie, Brand New Key, featuring pictures of what roller skates and keys looked like back then.

But if you want the queen of innuendo, there was the late great Meri Wilson:

v24Qdvij_zM
  - Meri Wilson, Telephone Man, 1977

ZI2gWJQm570
  - Meri Wilson, Peter the Meter Reader, (ca. 1977?)

HZkdIjvFP4k
  - Meri Wilson, Rub-a-dub-dub, 1977

xBCwBCQOnmk
  - Meri Wilson, Internet Man, 2001.

RIP, Ms. Wilson, and thanks for being just as lulzy in 2001 as you were when you started.

Love Hangover---Diana Ross (not as bad as "Love to Love You Baby" but there are a few suggested orgasmic sounds)

Stay Awhile---The Bells (Canadian band. Some of the lyrics, "She brushes the curls from my eyes. She drops her robe on the floor...")

I Just Want to Make Love to You----Foghat (enough said plus porno-music sound at the end)
