That was a 1980 song, but I s'pose it could.  It had a disco sound to it :)

As already mentioned, the Bee Gees and their disco period, and how about these

One of These Nights -- The Eagles
Who Loves You -- Four Seasons
Trampled Under Foot -- Led Zeppelin
Miracles -- Jefferson Starship
Boogie Wonderland -- Earth, Wind & Fire

???

I don't know if I'd classify that as disco.

'Here Comes The Night' - Beach Boys

Originally from their album 'Wild Honey', it was subjected to a godawful disco remake lasting over ten minutes (which was ten minutes too long, IMHO!) in the late 70s...

I'd almost forgot about that one.  Quite surprising they had success with it.  The best track on that album was 'Lady Lynda' by a mile :)

I don't know if I'd classify that as disco.

Maybe it was just a song that was written after someone went to a Disco or maybe it's just a song that got played at one, either way it's nice sometimes to irritate The Eagles fans.

Anyway, I'm surprised no one mentioned some obvious ones, like

Philadelphia Freedom -- Elton John

and didn't Paul McCartney do a Disco? (other than 1980's "Coming Up" ?)

;)

Would "Goodnight Tonight" count? It's kinda disco-ish

How about:

Fame..David Bowie, it sort of had a disco beat

Love Hangover - Diana Ross

Love Hangover - Diana Ross

I'd forgotten about that one.  Speaking of Diana Ross, how's about her 1980 hit "Upside Down".  One of the few post-Disco Disco hits

Philadelphia Freedom -- Elton John

More representative of 'Elton Does Disco' would be his 1979 LP 'Victim Of Love', which always gets brushed aside, even by the most die-hard of his fans...

Neither would I, but I heard from people or read that they got played at the Discos along with the more obvious Disco songs.

I could see "Who Loves You" ... or maybe more "September 1963"

"Listen to What the Man Said" and "Silly Love Songs" come to my mind.

Then there's "Get Down" by Gilbert O'Sullivan (?!?)

One thing that has intrigued me: On the 80's TV show "Throb", there was this 60's Frankie Avalon-type singer who wanted to go heavy metal in the 80's. One of the people said "Well, Joan Baez had a disco record in the 70's." Is this true, or do I remember that wrong?

Hmmm, I perceive there's some disagreement about what constitutes "Disco".  The only one of those three I'd classify as Disco is MAYBE Silly Love Songs, not the other two...  :-\\

(I'd call the other two straight 70's pop or pop/rock.)

But then I suppose that's what forums like this are for.  ;)

How about "Roundabout"?

I know it's "outside the era" and all, but it does have a little bit of a disco sound to it

... doesn't it?  :-\\

"Roundabout" by Yes ?
Never. It's far,far from Disco.

The closest Yes ever came to a dance song was probably "Owner of a Lonely Heart".

How about
"Steppin' In A Slide Zone" by the Moody Blues. If it's a Disco (I haven't heard the entire song), then that's a shocker.  :o

I don't remember "Miracles" being a disco tune...more like mellow rock.

There were different types of disco music. Bee Gees disco, Barry White disco, Elton John disco, etc.

Nope! "Roundabout" would actually be under Progressive Rock.

Being a Yes fan during the 70's, I had to say that. Yes was not anything close to disco.  I hated disco.

True!!!  ;D  Even though there were MORE types of 70's music that were NOT Disco...  ;)
