People might look back cynically, but JJ was the star of that show... he brought the laughs and the craziness. I love him! Best episode with JJ at his prime is "Cross Town Buses Run All Day" from Season 2.
I'd go for Florida next.

I picked John Amos, he is one of my favorite actors and contributed so much if not more than Jimmy Walkers character of 'J.J.'

I went with JJ, but John Amos was great as the dad. Too bad he left a couple of years before the show ended for good.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems that Jimmy Walker and Thelma (Bern Nadette Stanis) look quite different in the more recent pic of them.

The guy on the right is actually Bookman, not JJ. He was the superintendant.

I think James Evans had the edge.
I liked JJ, too, but the show was more fun when it had James along with JJ!
