Re: http://www.inthe80s.com/whatya.shtml ...
Anybody want to take a stab at entering a meaning for the Eagle's song, "NEW KID IN TOWN" over at http://www.inthe80s.com/whatya.shtml ???
(For some strange reason the exact meaning of this song still eludes me ... probably due the fact that I was born in 1971 :))

well, the liner notes from the 2 CD set tells the story of how they felt as if they were not the biggest act in town anymore and the reality set in that sometime they would be relpaced by someone younger...
the girl in the song represents all the girls they got (or tried to get) ...a running theme in the songs. henley and frey describe that as well in the booklet, which is a song by song detail. very very funa dn informative, and the pics are GREAT

The song has a lot of personal meaning to me because I was ALWAYS "the new kid in town".

Probably my favourite Eagles song from the first time I heard it back in 1976 :)
