Subject: The House without a Christmas Tree

Who all remembers this early 70's movie? It used to be shown on CBS but hasn't aired in many years. Jason Robards was a father who forbid his young daughter to have a Christmas tree. I watched it every year when it was on. Those were the good old days when CBS used to show the Special Presentation bumper right before it came on. They ought to bring that back on along with this movie. If they only knew how many people would like to see some of those old programs. Thank goodness for video.

There was another one they used but I don't think they used it much. It was CBS Family Presentation. It just had a cool jazz riff
with two pink parents with a child between them and a house drawn over their heads in pink. Someone has a clip on YouTube of a commercial that followed it. I have to find which one it is again.

I remember the movie. There was also other movies with the same characters. The Thanksgiving Treasure, The Easter Promise, & Addie and the King of Hearts.

Oh yeah..! Nice find...
When this flashed on the screen you knew it was going to be:
a. Something r-e-e-e-a-ly g-o-o-o-d (cartoon)
or
b. Something r-e-e-e-ally b-o-o-o-ring (Englebert Humperdink plays Carnegie Hall)
Always prefered 'a', myself...
'sterlingyoyo' has it at 1987. Not even close...
