Subject: KISS in the 70s
Written By: whiteport on 06/26/07 at 2:27 pm
I've been on a Kiss kick lately, I was a huge fan back in the 70s during all the "Kiss-A-Mania". So like 'em or hate 'em, if you were around back in the 70s you couldn't ignore them, I listed all of their 70s Studio albums in the poll which one is your fave? If you don't like Kiss vote for the one with the coolest album cover. Oh if this has already been done in the past, well let's do it again. :)

Some of the first music I remember listening to on a regular basis...
My first record was Rock and Roll Over (Seven y/o...)
Everything before The Elder is okay by me...
From the list, R&RO...

I'm only 14 right now, but I'm heavily into the '60s and '70s.
Anyway DESTROYER
it was my first album!

I only know the group form the 80s, so I cannot post in this thread.

I'll go with Destroyer, because I still remember the opening to Detroit Rock City with the radio static and "tuning in". But KISS in the '70s to me was topped with KISS ALIVE II with the included poster, KISS Army membership plaque (suitable for framing), and the KISS Army iron-on patch. Oh, and there were two great albums in there too.

Let's see. In 1977 and 1978 I hated them. I was in 7th and 8th grade respectively. Thought they were evil devil worshippers because a youth pastor said K I S S was an acronym for Knights In Satan's Service. Seeing their pictures gave me nightmares :D
Now...... I can't get enough of them.
Though I really don't know the exact order of release; I love hearing them on the rock radio stations.
"Rock and Roll all Nite"
"Beth"
"Shout it out loud"
By the time I was in high school I actually thought they were cool. Hated that they shed their make up.... but that is for the 80's thread. . . .
