Invasion of the Body Snatchers - 1956 (original)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers - 1978
Body Snatchers - 1995

Now:
Invasion - 2007

I liked the past 3 versions.  I haven't seen Invasion yet and I am not sure if I plan to watch it any time soon.  Maybe when it comes out on DVD.

I was very young in the 70's so I didnt see too many 70's movies.  Off the top of my head, these movies are still good, 30+ years later.

My Bodyguard (may be 1980 - not sure)
Breaking Away
Jaws
Superman

I have two answers --

The movies I remember liking in the '70s:
Jaws, Star Wars, North Dallas 40, Tommy (I was really tripped out by this as a 1970s 12-year-old), The Sting (at the drive-in theater), The Great Waldo Pepper, Rocky, Jeremiah Johnson, Papillion, Brian's Song, Midway, Alien and Escape to Witch Mountain

'70s movies that I appreciate as an adult:
Three Days of the Condor, Shampoo, All the President's Men (can you tell I'm a Robert Redford fan?), Harold and Maude, The Omen, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, American Graffiti and Apocalypse Now

Sweet Hostage- Martin Sheen was so hot in this
Harold and Maude- loved the porsche hearse

Honestly, I cant watch too many 70's movies.  They seem campy to me.  However there are a few really good movies that you guys mentioned already.  Jaws is still an amazing movie.  I saw it a few weeks ago for the first time in many years.

My list. Also in no particular order:

Willie Wonka and the Charlie Factory- There's something about the Oompa Loompas that terrify me to this day.

The Exorcist- This movie came out in 1973. Me and my sis wanted to see it because it was so controversial. My parents went and saw it and said if they thought it was OK for us to watch then we could go the next night and see it. I didn't get to see it until 1984! 'Nuff said!

The Reincarnation of Peter Proud- An oldie but a goodie about a murdered man that is reincarnated and starts remembering his past life. Spooky.

Blazing Saddles- "It's Hedley!"

Helter Skelter= Unbelieveable that they showed this on TV at the time and it freaked me out when Bugliosi said that Manson was up for parole in 1976!

Huh! Just looking over this list sure explains a lot of why I turned out the way I did. Good topic!
