If you listen very closely to the lyrics, everything about it is true even for today.

I prefer the 1985 cover by Love and Rockets, but the original is very good

Only familiar with the cover

Agree that the lyrics are very relevant

My sentiments exactly.

I "got" into that song in the late 80s and the same could be said at that time. But, you are right that it is still true.

Try "Eve of Destruction" by Barry McGuire.

I'm only familiar with the cover by Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act (or was it SA2?)

The Temptations - Ball Of Confusion

People moving out,
People moving in.
Why, because of the color of their skin
Run, run, run but you sho' can't hide

An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth,
Vote for me and i'll set you free
Rap on, brother, rap on

The only person talking about love thy brother is the preacher
And it seems
Nobody's interested in learning
But the teacher

Segregation, determination, demonstration, intergration,
Aggravation, humiliation, obligation to our nation

Ball of confusion, oh yeah
That's what the world is today, hey

The sale of pills are at an all time high
Young folks walking round with their heads in the sky
The cities ablaze in the summertime, and oh
The beat goes on

Evolution, revolution, gun control, sound of soul
Shooting rockets to the moon
Kids growing up too soon
Politicians say more taxes, will solve everything
And the band played on

So, round and around and around we go
Where the world's headed, nobody knows

Oh, great googamooga, can't you hear me talking to you
Just a ball of confusion, oh yeah
That's what the world is today, hey

Fear in the air, tension everywhere
Unemployment rising fast, the Beatles new record's a gas
And the only safe place to live, is on an indian reservation
And the band played on

Eve of destruction, tax deduction
City inspectors, bill collectors
Mod clothes in demand,
Population out of hand,
Suicide, too many bills
Hippies moving to the hills
People all over the world are shouting end the war
And the band played on

Oh, great googamooga, can't you hear me talking to you
Just a ball of confusion,
That's what the world is today, hey

Quite staggering how the band leapt from crooning songs about not being too proud to beg to this in a few short years...

Wonderful group whose members are mostly no more, but left behind a great body of work...

I'm guessing it was SA2. I've seen SA1 several times and I don't think she sang it in that one.

Yeah now that I think about it it was the scene where they try to raise money for the choir competition. I should have know it was 2 since Ive only seen the first one twice but the second one about 30 times it should have been obvious to me.

I was gonna say that not all the lyrics are relevant, specifically this one the Beatles new record's a gas  and then I remembered that the Beatle's Love album just released in 2006  :o
