Subject: Classic Rock Guitar Solo Quiz
Written By: gumbypiz on 02/21/08 at 11:22 pm
Tight little quiz on identifying classic guitar solos.
Give it a try: Classic Rock Guitar Solo Quiz
I got a 84 (not too good) but better than I thought as I haven't heard some of these in a while... ;)
Anyone out there that can get 100% on their first try?

That was a great quiz, but apparently I suck. ;D
You scored 53/100 points
Good, but you should dust off some of those old CDs.

I scored a 100 but I have to admit, I guessed at one. I wasn't sure if it was McCartney or Harrison,
I guessed correct. ;D

the true gearheads know who plays what (including i think eric clapton sitting in?) in all those roundrobin solos at the end of abbey road. i have no idea, myself.

yeah, it sure is, but it's probably a good example of me only listening to the songs I like, mainly the hits and skipping songs like this one which was sadly my loss

I'm just the opposite, I usually skip the hits.

and that's good because then you get more familiarized with the bands total work, where I feel like I've done myself a dis-service by skipping to the hits and thus have missed out on many good tunes

This quiz didn't work for me - none of the choice of answers corresponded with the music :(
For example; one of the riffs was from a Foreigner song but the choices given were for two other bands :o

OK;
I made a 100. It was good to know that 5 years on the road in a variety of bands had not been completely erased by the veneer of respectability glued on by marriage, a house (albeit not in the 'burbs--though it was 80 yrs ago) kids and a couple of college degrees (one in music, the other in high temperature processing)
Oh, Mighty Threadmaster, am I now worthy through Thy grace, of a Blue Oyster Cult decal for the back of my minivan? We still own all the vinyl and my brother's Fisher amplifier (tube, no less) is still in service, pushing a pair of AR-1's. The stylus on the sacerdotal turntable is changed every 1000 hours, and the records are still properly cleanesd before every playing...

I was going to say...am I doing something wrong? Are there supposed to be 3 or 4 choices for each question? Because several of the questions have incorrect choices.
For example, the correct answer for question 3 is Thin Lizzy (The Boys Are Back In Town), yet it's not listed in the options given.

There are 4 choices, on question #3 Thin Lizzy is # 4

Ahh...
Whenever I play it, a frame blocks out the 4th choice on my screen, so there appears to only be three choices.
