Subject: Mystery Song - Rare Grooves - Acid Jazz
Written By: Zenophobic on 03/22/08 at 9:09 pm
This track came off a tape that a girl I dated a looooooooooooong time ago gave me, which was given in turn to her by a DJ who spun for an Acid Jazz club back in the early 90's, but I think the song is old skool 70's.
For lack of a name and an artist... I just dubbed it "Tooty Fruity" - but if someone knows the actual name and the artist, let me know.
I put it up on Youtube - check it out, well worth your trouble. The song is just DOPE to slip back into 90's speak...

PS: I found this forum when I searched for the artist who did Rock Creek Park ("Doing it in the park.. doing it after dark...") which was another track that was on the cassette tape. The answer is The Blackbyrds as I found out. I'd love to post it in the thread but it showed up in Google as an archived page - oh well...
PPS: Would welcome some more suggestions as to artists and songs to check out in this vein... will be uploading some more tracks from the tape I got so check my page periodically. Peace!

That was excellent, it did have that 70's fusion sound to it, sort of like Return To Forever.
