The highlight of Andy's music has always been in his album tracks - especially those on his last album After Dark in 1980.

Single wise Time is Time, Shadow Dancing and Everlasting Love are classics! I have all 3 of his studio albums and none of them disappoint.

Here's afew interesting Andy Gibb videos where he is singing with Olivia Newton John (and ABBA in the second one). The 3rd he sings a pretty tune that the Bee Gees wrote years earlier. Not certain why there is a video as it is not listed as a released single..

He was a good artist,I read somewhere where he felt inferior to his brothers, always in their shadow..

I think he definitely felt that way. He could have joined the Bee Gees but felt he didn't fit...although he did join them on stage for a period. He hit the big time just when they were doing Saturday Night fever and Barry wrote or co-wrote most of his hits. He often did Bee Gee songs as part of his shows (eg How Deep is your love).

I know I compared his voice to Barry's (and his looks). It was almost impossible to get out of their shadow. In the end it consumed him. Ironicllay, he was clean from drugs when he died. The cocaine addiction had weakened his heart and he died from a heart problem. What a tragedy (no pun inteneded)........

Brings back a lot of memories for me.  My best friend in junior high LOVED him and when she moved away after 8th grade I bought her his Shadow Dancing album as a going away present.  We used to write letters to each other every week after she moved and I would go through my Tiger Beat magazines and cut out every picture of Andy Gib and tuck them into the envelope.
