Subject: need help find name of girls iconic character from 70's

it was like a hello kitty but from 70's ...might even been hello kitty i can't remember lol not really my area of expertise. Trying to find out to make something for my wife. Just need to get the right character so i can search for the proper images. I do know it was the same type of thing. On all the clothes and products for girls at the time. Appreciate any help someone can give.

One that stands out in my mind the most from that era is Holly Hobbie. I had a smock top made of Holly Hobbie material.

I agree with the others that Holly Hobbie was a 'big' character in the 70's but when you said "like a hello kitty" I instantly thought of Miffy the Rabbit
