I have been going nuts trying to get movie title of a scary 70s movie with little applehead looking characters that torment and hurt people.. does anyone remember this?

The film you're referring to is "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" (Made for TV 1973). The movie starred Kim Darby as a wife terrorized in her home by small, frightening, furry little things with odd apple looking heads. They would come out of the furnace at night and stalk around the house. Their goal was to kill the woman and claim her spirit. Good movie. I hope I've helped. Cheers !
