Subject: Mini scented martians in spaceships from the early 70s

Written By: teresac on 02/11/09 at 10:16 pm

I am in great need of the toy I had as a kid. I had a few of the mini martians. They were brightly colored and smelled nice. They came in plastice spaceships 8 inches or so tall, maybe a little less. We moved when i was 10 and they were all lost. Recently (i dont know why) i have been thinking of them and I would love to own one again. If anyone out there knows what i am talking about and would be interested having a chat about them please let me know.

Mattel Liddle Kiddle - Kozmic Kiddles 1969

Kozmic Kiddles have four dolls in their series. Doll glows in the dark, has two antennae on it's head, and one lock of forehead  hair, they each have a different colored spaceship which perched on a purple rock. These are highly prized and valued by the collectors and were only sold in 1969

Mattel also made a scented series of dolls called Kiddle Kolognes - 1968-1970. The dolls do not appear to be martians.

Well, good smells are in the nose of the beholder. Remember Ditto paper? It wasn't supposed to be scented, but what was the first thing everyone did? They sniffed it.

Wow.  Those Kozmic Kiddles toys from 1969 are a dead ringer for a game that came out about 13 years later:

Kozmik Krooz'r (almost released as Kaptain Krooz'r) was from 1982:

And here's a screenshot.

And here's a (rendering of) the physical 3D rotating plastic yellow spaceship that was suspended behind a half-silvered mirror in the actual game.

I wonder if the toys from 1969 were the original inspiration?
