all this talk about the recent recall of McDonald's Shrek Glasses got me thinking about the set of super hero glasses I had in the 70s

every single one of them was broken in the 80s because of a wayward basketball...every....single....one.... you'd think I'd've learned not to take those glasses out when we played b-ball...but alas I did not learn and now I regret it... I really wish I still had them...

I never had those glasses but back when I was a kid, sour cream came in cute little glasses.  We had these exact glasses.  I used to eat the sour cream right from the glass container.  8-P

copyright 2000 Collector Glass News - Batgirl & Robin Pepsi Sample Glass   This Pepsi glass is from one of my favorite sets. It comes from a 1977 set that was never put into production. After the success of the 1976 Superhero Moon Series, other ideas were put together for additional Superhero sets. Building on the successful formula used with the 1973 Warner Bros. series. An interaction set was planned. This Batgirl, Robin, and Catwoman glass had at least two other counterpart glasses with Superheros in action - Wonder Woman roping a thug & Batman subduing the Joker. (all three can be seen in our book Drinking Glass Collectibles)

  Unfortunately, the cost of producing these colorful interaction scenes was too high. The final decision was to produce the more familiar 1978 Superhero version. A very limited number of these 1977 glasses were produced. This is only one of three examples known of this glass.
