Subject: Beaker Street with Clyde Clifford

Written By: lil sis boombah on 01/03/11 at 10:44 pm

In the late 60s and early 70s, there was a late night show on KAAY in Arkansas that could be heard in most states and even outside the US in the right conditions. Some of you 40 to 60 somethings (if you're out there) might even remember it fondly. "Clyde Clifford" was the DJ and played a lot of music that no one else would play, by artists who ended up changing the face of rock and roll. The original show ended in 72 and then came back to life on another station on Sunday nights. It's current home is on the Point 94.1 FM and Clyde is still finding and playing music you are unlikely to hear elsewhere, old and new. But the Point has decided to kill the show after all these years. There's a facebook group called "Keep Beaker Street Alive." Check it out and help us save a legend! www.joneserjournal.com
