You guys probably remember the SSP cars, right?  Well, this is a toy I had around the same timeframe (I think) as SSP cars and the gryo Evel Knievel....it had a pump mechanism on top, and it was sort of like a dynamite plunger or a bike pump...you'd put the car or motorcycle in place, and then pump the hell out of it -- the air would turn some sort of turbine in the car or motorcycle and then when you released a lever, it would take off.  I remember it as being very fast. The cars were smaller than the SSP cars - maybe four inches total.  Any one?

DAN!  YES!!!!  Thank YOU!!   I thought for sure there was a similar 3-letter acroynm like SSP but I couldn't remember it.  So I guess it was only cars?  Although I do remember a motorcycle that was harder to successfully launch....but that could be the pink floyd talking.  Man, I will never forget that sound.

I think that wild rider is the same guy from the Village People.  At least now I know I wasn't completely imagining the motorcycle part.

I had the Evel Knievel cycle back in the day, never had one of these but I remember them for sure.

One thing I found that is pretty fun to do is either search the internet for scans of or hit eBay and snag some old department store Wish Books .
I remember as a kid, every time Xmas would draw near Sears and JCPenny's would send out a big color catalog. A few years ago I picked up a couple off eBay for around $8.00.
The flood of memories was amazing! (I only wish I had those toys today!)
