Subject: 1970's toy

Written By: hokiejay on 11/26/11 at 7:15 pm

Trying desperately to remember the name of a toy/game I had back in the early 70's. It was a clear plastic ball with small numbered cups and another small marble sized ball inside it. The object of the game was to pass the small ball from cup to cup in sequential order. Please help I am going crazy !

The toy which I think you mean in 1970s was the Baffle Ball, which I think was made by Palitoy or Mattel. It was a similar design to the Frustration ball whch came much later.

Here's a link to the 70s Baffle Ball.

Apparently, the name stuck.  This image is undated, but the packaging is clearly of much more recent vintage:

...but the modern version appears to still be available in the UK.

I'm willing to bet that If you lived in the UK you owned a Baffle Ball and if you were in the US you had the Frustration Ball.

Remco made theirs in 1969.
