Subject: Help Finding a Kid's Movie/Show from the 1970s or 1980s

I stumbled across this on IMDB yesterday. I can usually dig these up with descriptive Google searches, but this time was an epic fail. Now its driving me crazy.

I'm thinking maybe the 1985 version of Bridge to Terabithia which hits some of the descriptors or maybe a one-hour TV special....
