I can't find fares for PHL to NAS in 1976.

In December 1974, JFK to SJU was $230 for economy, round trip on American Airlines.  JFK to St Thomas was $250 round trip.  Ditto for JFK to St Croix.

In January 1979, PHL to SJU was $250 round trip economy mid-week on AA, $260 on weekends.  PHL to Bermuda was $154 for mid-week round trip excursion fare (i.e., restricted fare), $186 for weekend excursion and $216 for regular economy class round trip.  JFK to NAS was $181 for mid-week round trip excursion, $215 for weekend round trip excursion, $242 for regular economy class round trip and $362 for first class round trip.  Keep in mind 1979 was after deregulation.  Also, the printed fares may not have been what you actually paid.

So, for a rough order of magnitude: using the BLS CPI inflation-adjusting calculator, somewhere around $1000 in today's money.
