Subject: We Should Have A Buddy Reunion....

Written By: Hairspray on 01/07/02 at 08:50 a.m.

Sometime in the future! I think it would be great! Some of us regulars who are always around, meeting and partying 80's style during a 3 day weekend. What do you think?  :)

I think it's do-a-ble

There was an attempt on Chucky's board a couple of years ago but it never came off.  I am not sure if any of the regulars from back then are still around.

When you get ready to post a response, decide how you want it to look with one or more of the Add YABBC Tags under your Message Icon. When you choose one, click on it. You'll notice it almost duplicates itself in typed form. All you have to do is make sure your text goes in between the beginning and the end outside of the brackets. It will tell ya. Insert text where it says TEXT. That should be it. I'm not very good at explaining this kinda thing. I hope I helped some!  ;D

The Kentucky Derby Festival begins the end of April and ends the first Saturday in May with the most exciting 2 minutes in sports.  8) I don't believe there's any national (U.S.) holiday during the festivities.  But that would be a great time to come to Louisville - there's a hot air balloon race, steamboat race, parade, and a lot more.

I can arrange for a reception room at a hotel where we could all meet.  Let me know.

This would be so cool!  There are so many of you I would love to meet.  Just give me 6 months first (that's how long it takes to completely heal from liposuction and body sculpting, right?).

Seriously, though, I think we should do it in Las Vegas.  You can usually get good deals from all over the US (and beyond), especially if you book early.  There's tons to do there for every taste, and it's easy enough to get a meeting room or hall (as long as we make sure it's not a convention weekend, which long weekends usually aren't).  All we need is for someone to agree to get married while we're there - I've always wanted to go to a Vegas wedding!  ;)

How much time does everyone need?  I guess Labour Day is too hectic...  When would be good?

About 3 years ago from what I recall.  I think summer of 1999 was the target (time sure flies).

I read this before I went to work and spent all day thinking about it.  I think Vegas would be great...I live close (about 8 hours away) so I could drive there if I needed to.  I think the best time would be anytime after labor day before the holidays so the rates are lower.  I think it would be fun...count me in! ;D

I was in Louisville back in August for a cattle show,it was cool...We stayed at the Executive Inn across from the convention center(where they held the cattle show),at the same time we were there they had motorcross event and the BMX championship and I also went to that...It is a pretty nice city except for one thing,I noticed alot of people there with a limp..Have you ever noticed this before?Anyways we were thinking of going back there for the Kentucky Derby. My ex-boss and my friend both have horses that are in the Derby.I would'nt mind going back

A limp?  Hmmm?  I can only think that folks with cowboy boots at the cattle show may walk with a particular gait.  But no, I've never noticed the limping before.  None of my friends or family limp.
Louisville was just named one of the five most livable cities.

I'd only be able to go where the money allows, which means not far, but I'd love to go out sometime and meet up with a bunch of 80's-philes...

A central point in the US may be the fairest destination to all.

That way everyone has somewhat of an equal distance to travel - Unless you're lucky enough to already live there and then you're all set.  ;D

Well I live 20 minutes out of Oklahoma City, so hitting the central US shouldn't be that far of a drive for me... maybe 2 or 3 hours. :)  Maybe we could all get together for Celebration II: 25 Years of Star Wars... I think it's taking place in Missouri, which is pretty centralized too. Course it's happening like in 2 weeks...

Vegas.  Late September.  (Kids are back in school, weather is still good, prices aren't too bad.)

I know two people who will be there.  ;)  Anyone going to join us?
