I heard this on the radio today, but they didn't go into much detail. I hadn't heard about his previous problems.

I heard about this, too! I hope that Adam is okay and doesn't have to spend any time in a mental ward or jail!

He probably tried to get out of it by screaming "Don't you know who I am!?  I'm Adam Ant!  I had a hit song in 1982!"

I think we should try to remember that Adam/Stuart has been battling manic depression for the better part of his life and he would battle it better if it wasnt splashed all over the tabloids.  Other people with similar conditions are able to deal with their demons in private.  I hope he is getting the kind of treatment he needs at the moment and that the tacky London papers move onto another story real soon.

Tacky English papers ???? What about Adam Ant ?? I am in the U.K and I haven't heard anything on the news or read anything in the newspapers about Adam Ant except to say he had done a recent interview and talked about Heather Graham and she was pissed off about it.

Ok I have just read the yahoo piece. All I can say is that noone in their right mind ever believes ANYTHING printed in the Sun newspaper and I would suspect that the fact this 'news' hasn't appeared anywhere else would point strongly to the fact it is a load of bollocks! Either that or greatly greatly exagerated

hehehe I agree Gis - wholeheartedly.  I lived in the UK and one of my many jobs was in a newsagency so I soon learned which was the more believable paper over others.

The problem is - once the Associated Press get hold of a tidbit of a story they splash it around the world as fast as they can.

The Adam Ant story was in the papers here in Aus 3 days ago and I immediately emailed a friend in London who was a big fan - she said it had been a teeny snippet of an article that morning.  Once the world got hold of it and bandied it around it was suddenly front page news.

Just once I would like to see the situation reversed onto the journalists for a change.  See if they like having their own lives ruined for all to see.

Woah... most of the news in the Sun is bogus?  But I'm an enquirering mind! I want to know! (And the U.S. 'loids just aren't doing for me, since I'm more interested in British music).

Ah well, given the source I'm not inclined to believe the story, but if it is true, here's to hoping Adam's back on the streets soon.

Sad news. I read about it in my paper this morning. Just a small blurb, but even my paper is noted for wild inaccuracies.  My gut reaction was that it had to have been a misunderstanding, blown out of proportion by the telling and re-telling.

Time will tell how much, if any, of it is true.  If Adam Ant really is not well, I hope he gets the help he needs.  I've had relatives with mentall illness, and it's not easy on the families either.

Whatever the case, I hope it all works out to the best.

It's not unusual for celebrities (although It's hard for me to believe sometimes) to have breakdowns.

Look at some of the celebrities who've spiraled down in the past and are possibly still at risk:

Martin Lawrence

Mariah Carey

Margot Kidder

Robert Downey Jr. (Can't seem to beat that drug addiction of his)

Need I say more?  ;)
