Does anyone remeber those 'Choose Your Own Adventure' books that you read as a kid? The ones where you decided what to do in the story, and all the outcomes came from your choices? Thats another great thing that came out of the 80's - i loved those books! :D

I remember those!  I loved them as a kid.  I was always fond of reading...it was my favorite pasttime.  What I loved about those was that I could read it several times and always get a different story (which, of course, gave me more reading time)

Boy do I remember 'em. I still have a good collection of them right now. Most of them bought on Ebay. I bought all the ones that I owned when I was younger. Plus if the title sounded interesting then I bought it. I have 14 CYOA books at the present, and I also have 3 Star Challenge books which are very similar. You portray a space ace with a hovering robot named 2-Tor  as your companion on challenging space missions in which you decide what to do like in CYOA. They are hard to find nowadays. But they are cool cause you get to grade yourself after you reach an ending. There is a score chart in the back of the book which depending on which page your adventure ended it tells you if you did good or bad.

Welcome to the boards, DVR!

I loved those books, too.  I always wonder what would happen "if"...Those gave us the chance to find out.

Thos books could keep me busy for hours.  But then again, so do the cards that say "How do you keep an idiot occupied?  See other side" printed on both sides...

OK, now let's see how many here started at the back of the book looking for the best ending, and went through the pages to map out the choices you had to make to get to that ending?

I admit, I did it once...
