Subject: radio station plug...

Should any of you hearty souls be headed for the Olympics, I found possibly the worlds greatest radio station out there. Darned if I remember the call letters, but it was 103.1. Something like KJQN I wanna say. New station, but how often do you get to hear Echo and the Bunnymen, Elvis Costello, Viscious Pink, Duran Duran and the Fixx in a twenty minute span now that all your mixed tapes have worn out? Not often. Salt Lake City...who knew?

Any comparable web-casts would certainly be welcome. You'd think the land of rock and roll would have something on the airwaves I could stomach, but nooooooooo, none for me.

Ah, the beauties of digital radio. The easiest way to differentiate 103.1 Beacon FM (England), and 103.1 KJQN, in one push of a button. Now the only thing I've got to do is install it.

I must be in la la land.  I live in Salt Lake and this is the first I have heard of this station.  KJQN makes sense because in the 80's we had a station that played all this music when it was new and it was KQJ.  At the time it was 95.5, though. I will check it out today...thanks for the heads up ;D

Update:

Thanks, Langdon, that is a great station.  The are calling themselves "The original alternative station".  That's what they were in the 80's.  I hope it lasts longer this time.  They faded pretty fast in the 80's.  I am also thinking that it must be new (yes I am making excuses for why I haven't heard of them  ;)), they don't even have phone numbers yet.  I really hope they stick it out. ;D

I called the "response hotline" and complained bitterly that they went and got me all smacked up and left me hangin'. I mean, what do I do now? I'm glad you like it though. It was the only station anybody I hung out with listened to...that and a few other things made me start eyeing properties up for sale. What a great place to live...I mean, aside from the whole Ashcroft visitation melee.

You should think about moving here, it is a pretty great place to live.  Remember, Ashcroft doesn't visit all the time ;).  Also, I have a feeling housing prices will go down as soon as the Olympics are over. :)
