How about the game of 'Operation' or 'Perfection' or Bargain Hunter'?  Or the Rubiks Cube.

Wasn't there a babydoll with a motor in it's belly that looked like it was crawling because it's arms moved and it's bum went back and forth?  (It almost looked like a dog was wagging his tail in super slow motion.  lol)

I do remember the kissing barbie.  Actually, I think Mattel had numerous versions of her throughout the years. Here's one like I have (and probably you too) http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1326521891.  Check out the price in that auction!   In the 70's, I got EVERY new Barbie that came out.  I still have every single one of them.

Remember Wuzzles? :D

I had a Wuzzle, I think it was Eleroo or something like that.
I can even remember the commercial for those things.

"I've got a wuzzle I wanna snuzzle. Cute as he can be. Cuz he's part ____ and part _____." I think the Wuzzle was my favorite toy.

I also had most of Jem and the Holograms. Not that I can remember any of their names.

Intellivision was my favorite video game. I was so happy when my parents suprised me with that one.

Thanks for the site!  I was going to post and ask if anyone remembers "Kabangers" and if they were 80's or late 70's, but they were right there on the site.

"Kabangers" was 2 hard plastic balls on strings with a handle in the middle.  The idea was to move your wrist up and down so that the balls hit each other above and then below and to keep it going as long as possible.  OMG!  I remeber all the horrible bruise I had on my wrists!!  I was one of the best before they were "banned" in my school.

does the Rubik's Cube even count as an "80s toy" now since it hasn't exactly died out?  I think the Rubik's Cube has been consistently popular since it was first produced in the 80s, whereas other toys like GI Joe, Transformers and MicroMachines have ebbed in popularity...just a thought.

I hated Cabbage Patch Kids but got one anyway because every girl had one in my school.

I also had scented Strawberry Shortcake dolls.I had one of her, one that was blueberry scented and one peach scented one. Dont remember their names though.

I also had an orphan annie and a brooke shields doll..I didn't like dolls but for some reason people kept buying them for me. I did like orphan annie though because I needed her for my annie mansion!

Here's an odd one-I don't know if this was 70's or 80's because I was pretty young when I had this. They were books that had little record-looking discs on each page and there was a player that went along with the books. You put the player on top of the page and pressed a button and it read the story to you? I have NO IDEA what that was called.  ???

I found it on the list-they were called "Talk to Me Books" They didn't show a picture but the description fits exactly.
That toy list blows me away! I can't believe all those things I had forgotten about!
They don't have the Fabuland toys listed, though. The little Lego animals? Those weren't around very long, I still have all of mine.....

I hated that doll. I was about 4 or 5 when my brother had one and he used to bite it's arms to make the liquid ooze out and then he'd chase me around the house and told me it was bleeding.Nowadays they don't make them that way.

My Stretch Armstrong isn't all that old, but it's still doing well. I do need a new one, though, because the glue is slowly leaking out. I know there was definitely a Stretch Armstrong dog. Whether this was perma... per... longstanding edition, or a limited dealy, I'm not sure.

Stretch Armstrong? Isn't that the doll with the pump and you suck all the air out of its body? What were they thinking?

My sister had that Barbie with the pink dress that when you turn off the lights, the green glow-in-the-dark stars on the dress would show. I had a He-Man action figure & a Real Ghostbusters ghost. (the blue ghost that when you squeezed it...I think slime came out and the brain got bigger or something to that effect)

I remember the "My Buddy" jingle used to haunt me...I found myself singing it all the time.  I still do today.  :-/

Am I the only one who thought the words "Kid Sister" didn't quite fit with the "My Buddy" tune, even though they forced it? It just didn't flow right or something (I guess because of where the accents fell) and it used to drive me crazy. I think about that all the time.

Boy, those marketing guys really know how to make an impression... :)
