Subject: Ok guys I need help on these 2 songs

Written By: Arcfire on 05/25/02 at 01:32 a.m.

I was going through my tape collection when I found my cassettes that I had recorded off the radio since I was poor freshman in Highschool till I was a senior (1980-84).  Problem is I recorded over some older songs that I liked, but haven't got the faintest idea who sang them. Some of the tapes are in such poor quality that its hard to make out what is said

First one I know that you will recognize.. its "Voices"
Some of the lyrics go
"Dont look back, look straight ahead,
listen to what the voices say
dont look back yesterdays gone..."

The second one is a song called "girls"
I only had the very end of the song but some of the chorus goes:
I looove girls,
Girls,
Tell them that I love them,
tell them I dont love her,
tell them what you want to...
girls..

And the last is a spoof on Space Invaders
"There it is in the corner of the bar,
I tried to run but I didnt get far
Those weird little men I'll blow 'em away,
I'll sell my mom for a chance to play
He's hooked he's hooked his brain is cooked..
space invaders

Ok make that 3 songs then! :D
Any clue on who sang these? Thanks!

Don't Look Back, Look Straight Ahead - These lyrics are of Russ Ballard's "Voices".

Can't help you with the others, I'm afraid.

I believe the second one is "Girls", by Dwight Twilley. It charted in early 1984, so the time frame is right.
