Subject: Mini Skirts and Leg Warmers!!

Written By: southernspitfire on 05/26/02 at 04:30 a.m.

Ok...Hair..here is a post....for girls I guess anyway...unless Todd R pops in and wants to add some comment!!

Anyway....Every Friday at my school was mini skirt and leg warmer day....if you did not show up dressed in a mini skirt/dress with matching legwarmers..then you were not cool!!  I remember the mini skirts got so high one time the teachers were taking us girls out of class and measuring how close to the knee they came.  My grandmother had to add an inch of lace to one of my mini dresses...OH..and lets NOT forget the matching hose..if you had a purple mini skirt..you HAD to have pink stockings (with matching purple legwarmers)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm not Todd R and trying to read between the lines I don't know if I'm sure I'd wanna be ?!?!

All I can say on the subject is that I was in favour of Mini Skirts (*) and I see they are presently making a comeback....

(*) To look at, not to wear

PS  Where would one apply for one of those 'measuring' jobs ?

:) ;) :D ;D

well...since my grammie has passed on... I guess you could be first in line to make sure we pass the teachers "respectful" length!!!

motified to add  since you are the first to ask, I guess you have the job...time to re-name yourself...as the measuring man!!!!!!!!    http://www.colute.net/cwm/contrib/edoom/mouth_water.gif

Hey all!  Todd R is back, but with a slightly diff posting name. Had to re-register with my profile and such since I havent been able to post messages with my old Todd R name..(something happened after the last change in the message board, and I had to get a new password...)                                                                                                  ANYWAY...hmmm...Miniskirt day at school?  How come we never had those at my school? Probably cuz miniskirts were just once again coming back in style when I graduated in 1981..  But I did wear em during my college days to clubs and such.  Never wore leg warmers but I always had my colorful tights (or sometimes they were plain black tights or even black and white striped tights!)                                                                                              You know when theres a FASHION related post, Todd R wont be able to ignore it....

We had to wear school uniform and miniskirts were not allowed.I can remember wearing very tight skirts to the knee and long over the knee socks.I jump off a wall one time and split my skirt so badly it was unmendable and as I had nearly finished school my mum refused to buy a new one so I had to go with it held together by safty pins!?! Very punk or something! We used to wear legwarmers with tight jeans rather than mini skirts.
