It's weird because punk was evolving in the early 80's and some bands I wouldn't necesarily call punk like The Jam were put in that genre. So : The Jam,The Undertones,Adam and the ants,The buzzcocks,The Stranglers,Boomtown Rats,Sham 69,Stiff Little Fingers,X-Ray Specs,Generation X,The Only Ones,Eddie and the Hot Rods,Bow wow wow is that enough??

The Jam are constantly put in that genre, when it isn't really punk. However, I've heard that they're classed as that beacuse of the 'attitude' of the music. I wouldn't be able to put a specific label on their music - but it's very good :)
