Yeah, you’re right. The only reference to this guy leads back here.

I remember him well though. A guy with a lion looking mane and face painted accordingly, extolling the virtues of school lunch… pizza, burgers, and fries. It was probably mid-80s, and I can recall wondering why a Public Service announcement would feel the need to tell any kid that that needed more pizza, burgers and fries.

Sorry for being of little help. You know, now that I think of it, Chow Daddy could have just been local to the Boston area which would limit his potential for nationwide popularity.

Chow Daddy was a PSA created by the Ad Club of Greater Boston.  I have an old VHS tape from 1992 when the spot was aired.  Definitely a classic.

Hey Chuck, sorry, I don't have that one!  That is another memorable commercial though.  Someone's gotta have it.

I'm tired of candy
I'm tired of gum
I'm tired of hunger
And food that's no fun

You are in luck! I too have pulled my hair out for quite some time concerning the evasive "Chowdday" character. A fellow board poster sent me this. Go to this link.

A big Thank You! to Mr. Lopez... we all can now enjoy the lyrical meanderings of the daddy of chow!

Enjoy!

Beautiful! Just what I was looking for. Thanks. The commercial was just as silly as I remember it. Unfortunately the video clip on the site is only the second half of the commercial. Does anyone know the words to the first half, aside from what I posted above already?
