Subject: Post your latest 80s "finds"/purchases

Written By: ChuckyG on 06/13/02 at 04:51 p.m.

Just got back from Newbury Comics.. they're ending their discount program soon, so I wanted to make sure I got my purchases out of the way as soon as I could.. and was pleasantly surprised to find all five of Blondie's original albums (I refuse to count Hunter, and I already had Greatest Hits and No Exit)...

they're completely remastered, and include four or five bonus tracks each.. most excellent cd re-issues

I also picked up a re-mastered edition of the Cars first album, a double disc Rhino collection which has the original album on one CD and a second disc of demo's and live tracks... got that one online, heard about it on an old "Crap from the Past" show (I love that show, too bad it's not syndicated, but still most excellent that he archives his old shows on the web).

Speaking of comics, I saw comics for both Sledgehammer and Wiz Kids at a local store... I'll have to go see if they still have them. As for 80s purchases, we might be buying a 1985 Firebird soon; now we just need a KITT Kit...

Promo-Only 12" of "Always Something There To Remind Me" (extended remix 5:41) in excellent condition.  There was another copy at Oak Lawn Records, Dallas TX at the time!

Also bought these (in mint condition):

Huey Lewis & The News - "The Power Of Love" (Extended Version)
Expose' - "Point Of No Return" (Original 12" from 1985 on Arista.  I already had the '87 remixes...and the '96 remixes.  This single was originally put out as the artist being named 'Xposed')
Blondie - "Call Me" (Extended Version/Promo Copy)
Fun Fun - "Happy Station" (1983 Extended Version.  Boo!  Not the remix I was looking for...)
Voyou - Houseman (Germany Calling) (On Oak Lawn's own label...for $0.99!
