;D  For all you Duran Duran fans out there, I just read in the Philadelphia Daily news that they are in the process of recording a new album with all five original members.

Great articles, ChuckyG. It's nice to see Nile's positive outlook of the band as it is today.  :) I have no doubt they'll do great with their reunion album.

IMO, "Pop Trash" was terribly underrated. But all's well with the original line-up being back together.  ;)

Yes, this was announced last year (May 2001).  If you go to their website, www.duranduran.com, you can hear a sample of one of their new recordings AND check out the photo gallery, there's photos of them in the studio!  :D

Here's some recent news from D2.com:

The Nile sessions are finished for right now. Simon may come to the States to finish up some stuff with Nile at the end of the summer, but as of now, nearly all of the vocal parts are finished. Nile will spend his summer doing some tour dates with Chic!

Felix Da Housecat stopped by the studio and is interested in maybe doing a re-mix with the guys on the song "Sunrise." Bryan Ferry also stopped by the studio, and according to Simon, tapped his foot to the music. He made Simon's day by telling him "I liked that one Simon," since both Simon and Bryan are part of the "lead singer's club." According to Simon, if one lead singer compliments another, it is quite rare....

Nick had a big birthday bash this past week at #1 Lombard Street. By all accounts it was a fantastic time, with Boy George, Phillip Traecy, Bob Geldolf, Jerry Hall, Gary Kemp and 2 No Doubters in attendance, along with Simon, Roger and Andy. Albert , the famous Perisian DJ, was spinning and as a gift to Nick he arranged for a sitar player to come and play a song in his honour.

Simon got out a bit this week, going to the opening of an exhibit at Hamilton's Gallery for the Basquiat show. On June 27th, he and Yasmin went to the Elton John White Tie and Tiara Ball at Elton's home in Datchet, near Windsor. There were over 400 people there, including Emma Thompson, Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia, Craig David, Ronan Keating and Sting. The party raised a lot of Money for Elton's AIDS charity.
