Sad because he would have been a great black man. Instead he's a repulsive white one.
Pathetic because the media falls for this chisler's pratfalls all the time. They should stop the circus before Jackson's family becomes sucked into it too. (Too late for LaToya :'()

I agree with all of you. I don't know where this man went wrong or took the wrong path in life, but he definatly is not into reality of any kind that the rest of us are in. I don't care how much the man professes he loves children and wants to protect them, his actions regarding the kids are sick and demented and very very disturbing. What his parents must be thinking and also his siblings exception being of Latoya (thinks that is how u spell her name) as she is just as strange as her bro mikey.

I'm not sure why I find myself feeling sorry for a multimillionaire alleged child-molester, but thinking about it, he's not exactly had a "normal" life from toddler onwards.

...I'm not sure he's wrong - why should minority artists not be taken advantage of, when recording companies take advantage of basically anybody they can?

If you have any sympathy for the guy, I would like to kill it right now.

Michael Jackson's rap has always been that he's a bizarre man-child out of touch with reality, trying to recapture his lost youth in increasingly bizarre ways.  However, I'd like to remind you that this is the guy who purchased the rights to the Beatles' back catalog in 1987 right under Paul McCartney's nose.  Paul McCartney, his frequent collaborator and one of his closest friends in the biz.  And his response to Sir Paul when called on it?  "It's just business."  That doesn't sound like someone suffering from distance from reality, that's just blatant immoral greed.  And he doesn't just own the rights to Beatles' songs; he's bought the rights to a bunch of other artists too, including Sly Stone (who sold his rights while checked into an ASYLUM), Miles Davis (who was screwed out of his rights by illegal contracts), Jackie Wilson (whose kids live in the projects), not to mention a bunch of 50's r&b singers who were screwed out of their royalties, sometimes at gunpoint.

This is the guy standing up for minorities' rights in the recording industry?  That utter &%*#.

He isn't sad or pathetic... he's a sick nasty bastard.  It's digusting what what he can get away with because he's rich.  I think he's guilty and I don't feel sorry for him.  I feel sorry for the kids.

Subject: Re: Michael Jackson... sad or pathetic?

Written By: Bobby on 11/23/03 at 03:01 p.m.

I feel sorry for him on a couple of levels. He has deep psychological problems, regardless of his business decisions in the past - he doesn't seem to be happy as a result of them! Mental illness, in whatever form it takes, is not to be taken lightly.

Having predominantly children as friends is not beneficial for him and even though it doesn't look great for him at the moment, I am not going to jump on the messageboard bandwagon until the judge says he's guilty. If he is then my attitude will change.

I'm not going to pass judgement and say he's molested children until it is proven that he has. I'll only comment on what he's admitted to, which is sleeping with children in his bed, which is sick and twisted in itself. Little kids will climb into bed with their parents if they've had a nightmare or something and they're scared. To invite a child to sleep in your bed with you is just...weird. I hope he gets what he deserves, but he probably won't because he's rich and famous. On the other hand, pop stars have been set up by police in L.A. before for publicity (for the cops themselves). Remember George Michael?

I've also heard the possibility that this all could be a publicity stunt so Michael will sell records. This is definitely not good publicity for him, and if this is something he thought of, he's obviously not thinking straight. But I don't think it's a publicity stunt for Michael. It's either one for the cops, or it's real.

I would have to agree that sad and pathetic are the right chosen words. But I DO feel sorry for him. Granted, none of us will EVER know, no matter how many news specials, tv movies and biographies we read what REALLY went on in his household when He was younger. Only he, his siblings and his family know. It does not sound like his father was very..well we've all heard stories and seen tv movies about it but like I said its hard to tell for sure. As for molestation, I dont know. I really dont beleive that he would hurt a child in anyway. He's so childlike and unrealistic himself. Deffinatly Psychologicly deep stuff going on with him, it is very weird having the children in bed with him. Your own kids yes..to read stories to, if they are scared, etc..but other peoples kids?..I dunno its a creepy weird thing i wish i knew the answers too. I think we can all agree on one thing..he deffinatly needs help. I dont think jail will do it either but if thats what it comes to thats what it comes to,especially if they really do have some like..creepy proof that proves once and for all that he really IS doing disgusting things with children.

Where did he go wrong?  Here was a guy that had the world in the palm of his hand.  He had more talent than just about anyone.  At the time of "Off The Wall" and "Thriller" he seemed like a pretty normal teenager/young adult.

Then everything started to evolve.  His behavior became more and more strange.  His music and creativity went downhill, and his appearance was more and more bizarre.  Looking at him today, he doesn't even resemble himself.

I think that if he were honest with himself and had the chance to do it all over again, he would probably do a lot of things differently.  Sad or pathetic.  It's all very sad.

if he goes to jail i don't think he'll survive. first off, he just might top himself if he's sentenced. another thing, convicted child molesters don't too well behind bars, he definitly needs protection.

I'm not sure whether or not Michael Jackson is guilty of these latest charges, but he sure wasn't very smart having other people's kids sleeping in his bed; any other 45-yr old man would never get away with that.  He should find himself a good therapist and start making friends closer to his own age. However, I have an idea that no jury will want to send him to prison.

Howard, what on earth is Pee Wee Herman, your sig, doing?Wasn't he among one of the many that we've become disenchanted with?

I think that I saw somewhere in the news today that the publicity is not hurting Jackson's sales.

WHO ARE WE TO JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS AND SAY HE'S THIS OR THAT?  IN MY OPINION, I THINK EVERYONE NEEDS TO LET HIM BE.  EVERYONE SEEMS TO BE OUT TO GET HIM JUST BECAUSE HE IS VERY DIFFERENT THAN THE "AVERAGE" HUMAN.  I THINK THERE IS ALOT MORE TO THE STORY AND THEY JUST RECENTLY PRESENTED A RECORDED TAPE OF THE ACCUSERS SAYING HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG.  I THINK THE STORIES ON HIM KEEP GETTING MORE TWISTED AS THEY ARE PASSED AROUND.  HE'S JUST A BIZARRE MAN WHO SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN WHISKED AWAY WITH ALL THE HOLLEYWOOD GLAM AND MONEY.  THERE ARE MANY OTHER " TRAGEDIES" THAT WE CAN PUT OUR FOCUS AND ENERGY TOWARDS.  BUT HEY, THIS IS JUST MY OPINION.   ::)

Thank you Frogger, I have to agree. Who's to say that all this is true. It's like a huge "Enquirer" story. Everyone believes what they read in print. I truly don't believe that he did that to that child. During the interviews he has done, he doesn't look like a "true" adult mentality. As for the last interview from the "British Guy", I hated it. Here is a no-name reporter trying to gain his trust then slams him when the final print is made!! How low class!!! The only reason this kid said something was when Micheal cut his financial assistance to the family. As a parent, I wouldn't allow my child to stay the night at ANY adults house, I don't care who they are. These parents knew what they were doing when they allowed their children to stay in Neverland. As far as children in the bed, that hasn't been proven, either. I say, let the courts decide if he is guilty or not. As for myself and the strange things that Michael buys, I couldn't say that I wouldn't be as happy to spend millions on stuff that I wanted. The rights to the Beatles songs, etc...that was a business decision, Paul should have bought them first.
This is just my opinion....agree or disagree. :D

Martin Bashir might be a "no name reporter" to you, but he isn't in Britain! Who are you to say that the British press is no less believable or relevant than the American press (unless it's something like the NME, then I can understand)? ;D The American press isn't the only media in the world that should be believed. Just because it's foreign doesn't mean it's bogus.
