I have one question: Did Jan Hammer's "Miami Vice Theme" go to #1? If so, from what date to what date was it #1?

Yes it did, it spent one week at #1, the week of 09/07/85.

Gotcha on this one, TX. :-) Actually, 09/07/85 was the week the song debuted on the "Hot 100" chart, at #59. It climbed to #1 in its 10th week, which was the one ending 11/09/85...
