Subject: Artist and Song ID

Written By: Emma on 08/01/02 at 02:12 p.m.

I was wondering if someone could help me ID some songs I heard recently.

The first song sounds like it's from early 80s and it's sung by a female in a high-pitched and breathy voice....The song has a harp playing in it and has a bit of a country flavor....Some of the song lyrics are:

It's all because of you

You went away
Though my love is a rainy day (not sure on this line)
I love you so
How much you'll never know
You've got a way ???????

Untouchable memories
Seem to keep haunting me
Of a love that once turned all my gray skies blue
But you disappeared
Now my eyes are filled with tears
I'm wishing you were here with me.

Song #2 is sung by a male and it has a hard rock vibe to it....sounds like early 80s too. It was hard to make out some of the lyrics but here are what I could make out:

Love toys
Nobody knows her
Rough boys
don't walk away
Tough boys
Come over here
I wanna.....

I wanna see what I can find
Tough kids
Bottle of wine

I'm gonna carry you home...

Any help would be greatly appreciated....Thank you very much!

Apparently more than one artist recorded the first song, which is called “Sukiyaki.” One artist was A Taste of Honey in the 1980s,  and another was 4 P.M. in the 1990s.

The second song was called “Rough Boys”, by Pete Townsend of the Who. The song was off of his solo album “Empty Glass” (1980).

I hope this helps.
