Anybody remember Jean Beauvoir? He had a popular song on MTV around mid-eighties. I want to say it was Feel The Heat and I think it was from the movie "Cobra".
Anyway, huge bleach blonde mohawk. Pretty wild.

I agree, Rapture! I don't care what y'all say, they're definitely infinitely more interesting than the last decade+. (Although, I wasn't a big fan of male big-hair; but short and spiked up is good for me!) Some of course were gag-me stupid, but overall I think way totally awesome cool. ;D
But, sorry to say, I don't know what the names are (most anyway), so I can't identify anything specifically either way! What is a mullet? Any pix? Dare I ask? :-[ (<---shouldn't the "embarrassed" face have more a bemused smile than a frown?)

A Mullet can be seen under my name on the left. I adored Master Mannix's Mullet in the 80's - but I hate to say it - he STILL wears it this way today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

basically any haircut band from Aus ie Pseudo, Inxs, Venetians, Models, Xmen, Kids in the Kitchen - ALL OF THEM !!!! I adored them back then but now I look at pics and die laughing - the boys used more gel and hairspray than the girls !!!!!!

That's a mullet? I don't think that's so bad! Maybe I should move to WV or OH! (How do they come up w/these names, anyway?)
Call me crazy, but I still prefer the '80s hair over since then, male or female. What about those STUPID shaves around the bottom half of the head? While the top of the hair looks like a soupbowl? (I hated the original soupbowls, too.) Also, I'm getting a little tired of the Jordon-copies shaved heads. Nothing terrible, it just gets boring - unless you have a hideous Klingon head which is very interesting. Yes, I have seen some guys who really shouldn't expose the skull if they can help it.

I would probably have to say Alan Wilder's (Depeche Mode) "loaf of bread" hairdo circa 1984. You can see it in its full effect in the "Master And Servant" video. Come to think of it, David Gahan's hair was pretty horrid around that time too, first with the "mullet" look in the aforementioned video, and then the asymetrical "flathead" blonde look he had later on around 1985 (see: "Shake The Disease" video).
Other than that, I'd say anyone who wore a mullet past their shoulders...80's metal "hair" bands...Johnny Marr (The Smiths) when he tried Morrissey's "rockabilly" look...Johnny (Rotten) Lydon in his Public Image Limited days and beyond (his hair keeps getting worse and worse)...etc...etc...
Most of the New Wave/New Romantic/Pop groups had great hair. ;D

The mullet - due in part to footballer David Beckham having a similar style, the mullet has once again resurfaced in my area!!
