She's very convincing in her roles, it's very easy to just watch her, but not be thinking of past roles she's had.

With some actors or actresses it's very hard to divorce the actor from the roles they've played in the past, but she's done an excellent job at taking on different roles (such as action movie or comedy). It was very hard for me to even think of a bad movie that I've seen her in, without thinking of a movie that was just bad in general, irregardless of her performance.

It's a shame that she isn't given some of the roles that might get her an Oscar. She has an unwarranted Hollywood reputation as a b!tchy person. But Bette Davis and Joan Crawford were known for their attitudes and still got juicy roles. Sigourney is in that same league.

She seems a genuinely tough and intelligent woman, not the weeny bimbos that get all the parts - and worse, get put in tough-girl parts. I can see right thru them (a`la GI Jane). Sigourney is much tougher.

See 4. She's much more believable as a strong and/or intelligent woman than the bimbos we're told are so sexy these days (the last 15+ years). Hell, I never saw "Working Girl" exactly cuz of 1 of those stupid bimbos playing some smart woman( ???) - so I didn't even know Sigourney was in it! She'd wipe the floor w/those idiots. I agree w/IG, she's more like the great women in the old days whom I love - Bette and Joan and Barbara and Kate.

I havent ever watched her in her bad films because usually the movie - say Galaxy Quest for an example - looks so bad that I wouldnt see it regardless of its cast.

I like her strength and the ability to go from action girl, to serious drama, to full on comedy.
5. Do you think her success in movies is:
- Going a bit slow
but only due to Hollywoods pathetic attitude towards ageing female actors.
6. What genre of film do you think best suits Sigourney?
I like her light hearted comedy in Working Girl - but her dramatic turns in Gorillas and Dangerously are just amazing.
