Subject: Billy Idol in Oz

Written By: BrianMannixGirl on 10/03/02 at 05:50 a.m.

Hey Aussies

Who caught Billy on The Panel last night !

I have to say - he looks mighty fine - all 46 years of him.

Compared to his appearance in The Wedding Singer - where he looked like death - he is back to trim taut and tanned.  Positively glowed !  Still tried to be the ole punk rebel boy tho didnt he !!!!

The voice is still there - the unplugged version of To Be A Lover was great.

He isnt coming Perth - that I know of - I havent seen any ads in papers.  :(
I never quite recovered from his gig in 86 (hmmm or 85 maybe getting old - 34 tomorrow ARGHHHHHHH) when he came out on stage buck naked - gave all us young lasses something to think about for some time !!  ;)

Well, Happy Birthday, BMGirl!!! It's good to hear that Billy looked better than he did in The Wedding Singer! Saw him on a recent Behind the Music special, and he's still as bad as ever!!! :)

Hi BMGirl !

I am hoping that on this visit he will give a repeat performance - not however of type that had such a lasting effect on you though... :P

I'm referring to the popular rumour/urban myth/truth (?) that he smacked Ian Meldrum in the mouth backstage at the Logie Awards.

I missed it the first time..... :'(

hehehe - it sure is an urban myth !!  Brian Mannix was standing with them when that supposedy happened and he said it was a "smack" lip to lip - not fist to face !!

Did you catch an interview Molly did with Billy a couple of years ago when Billy dropped his pants (sigh - again !) to show the scars on his legs from the motor bike accident that nearly killed him.  God they were awful - it looked like both legs had been in a blender.

ps thanks for the b'day wishes 80's Triv. I have been trying to ignore all the ones since my 30th !!  But this one came up on me kinda sudden like !

Happy birthday for tomorrow!( as of then we will share the same exalted!?! age)I have to say I had a damn fine birthday which kind of made up for the 34 bit........

As to Billy I too have seen him recently on a documentory thing and I agree he was looking a million times better. As to the coming on stage flashing his bits.......I'm still scarred for life by the sight of Iggy Pop's nether regions so personally I'd rather the trousers stayed on!!

And I cheered myself up (I'm not entirely sure I like being refered to as mid thirties now :( !!!!) by buying my first digital camera - a Canon A30.  Its GREAT.  I have spent all day following my mum around as she weeds my garden - she is being my test shot subject !!!!!

There's nothing better than spoiling yourself I say, well thats my excuse for my overdraft anyway. So enjoy the camera, thats if your mother hasn't become fedup, grabbed it off you and hurled it in your flowerbeds!

(I class 34 as early thirties and 35 as mid and I'm never getting there, I'm stopping where I am now!)

Fortunately Mummy is as fascinated by the camera as I am !!!  :)

More Billy news - he was seen out jogging in Sydney and the spotter said he was looking mighty fine and very fit - the same could not be said for his bodyguard who gave up trying to catch up !!!!   :D
