According to the links below, Baltimora (Jimmy McShane) was Irish, and he died of AIDS March 28, 1995.  Hope this helps.

I might not speak italian, but I can make out some of it, and I think it says he died of AIDS in 1990. "morto di A.I.D.S. nel 1990"

the singles listed are just remixes by some hack after he died..

The Jimmy McShane story is correct, and he did die of AIDS in 1990. My question is: How did he get the name Baltimora? ???

Baltimora (aka Jimmy Mc Shane) was from Northern Ireland. His album 'Living in the Background' was a one man operation, he played  and wrote his own works..

I don't have any other info, unfortunately. Info on him is non-existant online, I wish someone who knew him would post something..

So you're sure that Baltimora was really Jimmy McShane...And what about Maurizio Bassi? In this site it's clearly stated that he is Italian:

I think that we are talking about two people with the same name:) Baltimora is also an Italian city and both guys obviously had the idea of using it as a stage name!

No, I don't think so...All Baltimora's tracks were written by Naimy Hackett and Maurizio Bassi (even "Tarzan boy", no doubt); if you search in Italian websites you'll find that Baltimora was the pseudonym of the same Maurizio Bassi but if you search in American/English websites you'll find that Baltimora was the northern Ireland singer called Jimmy McShane...What's the truth???

Those are the two songwriters.. Baltimora = Jimmy Mc Shane.. I am certain of it..

Yes. Maurizio was the producer and co-writer. Jimmy McShane was the singer. The rights to the songs have gone back to him (the producer) and the album has been out of print for a while now.
